Hi, Welcome to my Blog Post. As you all know I am launching my new venture – Ask the Bookkeeper. While setting up how Ask the Bookkeeper will run, I have been searching for a way to give you FREE content that is a bonus for you on top of the subscription services that I offer and after a lot of thought I have decided that a weekly blog would be the way to go.
Over the last 6 months I have been doing a lot of research and working out what direction I wanted to take my career. I love bookkeeping and I love helping small business owners, so it seemed logical to set up Ask the Bookkeeper. The benefits of a blog is that it will help me communicate with a large number of people at once, it will provide you with hints and tips for free and it will give you a way of communicating with myself and other readers, asking questions and providing feedback. All blogs that I post will be kept on the server and therefore it will allow you to catch up if you have missed some of my posts.
The aim of my blog is to connect with small business owners who are trying to run their own business successfully while keeping on top of their paperwork and tax obligations. I have been bookkeeping for 25 years and have had my own bookkeeping business for 16. During this time I have met 100’s of small business owners, most of them want/need to do their own bookkeeping but appreciate any help and advise they can get from people who understand all the intricacies about paper flow, running a small business, employing staff, meeting tax obligations and of course bookkeeping.
I will be blogging once a week, on a Monday. Occasionally, I will send out articles on other days of the week, but Monday will be the main day. I love to engage with my readers in the comments section of each post, so please make sure if you want to have input that you leave a comment.
Some things I’m looking at covering in my blog are:
- Introducing various accounting software applications
- Sales
- Debt Collection
- Purchases and Suppliers
- Payroll
- Tax obligations
- Filing
- Paper flow
But ultimately, my blog will be about what you want, so over the next couple of weeks I encourage all of you to give me some feedback on what you would like to hear from me. Please also spend some time checking out my website – www.askthebookkeper.com.au
Question: What would you like to see me blog about?
